Weight Pulling
Great day of pulling today. We had 10 dogs pulling pro in the first pull.
Both Aubyrne and Mariko pulled the empty cart and I withdrew them on a positive, as they're still learning and would be pulling later in the day.
The temps were supposed to be in the 70s and cloudy. Nope 80s, a touch humid and sunny. Nobody asked too much of the dogs.
Both Sebastian & Cinnabar did well.
We had 2 in the novice pull, both malamutes and they did well. Looking forward to seeing them again next month.
We had 10 dogs pulling pro in the second pull. Mariko did not pull the empty cart, she got a little A.D.D on me Aubyrne almost ran me over pulling the empty. It was a holy sh* moment to get out of his way. I had him pull 2 more times and withdrew him on a positive. He was so excited after he was done, licking my face and leaning into me. I had a hard time getting his harness off him, he was so excited.
Sebastian was walking slowly, showing his years a bit and the heat, so I withdrew him after his first pull. Cinnabar pulled a bit more than that.
Missy's dogs did well, especially Bobber. Dave's Lilly and FatBoy did great!. Ian has some work to do with Softtail, but lots of potential there, and Jon's Pan looked good as always. Thank you Ian, Jon & Dave for cart help, and to Missy for timing the big dogs. Looking forward to next month and lower temperatures.
